Is It True That Sex Is Healthy? Why Should You Have More Orgasms?

You probably already know that orgasms feel fantastic. But did you know that getting off may also improve your health and overall well-being?! That’s right. Sex is healthy!

Orgasms help calm you down, which can lead to better sleep. An orgasm is followed by the release of certain endorphins. Endorphins help you to relax. In particular, oxytocin stimulates feelings of warmth and relaxation. So, if you’re feeling particularly anxious or stressed before bed, try getting off! It just might help to relax you. Sweet dreams!

Orgasms are natural pain-relievers. Oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin levels surge during climax. This means that your tolerance for pain will go up. It’s ironic, but pain itself will be reduced! The effects of pain relief often last long after getting off. A headache, cramps, or general aches or pains may be gone or reduced after having an orgasm.

Orgasm can help prevent cervical infection and UTIs: during orgasm, the cervix “tents” open. By opening, this pulls the mucous lining within the cervix into the vagina. This essentially flushes out the old lining and gets rid of anything trapped in the mucous that shouldn’t be there.

This study found the following:

…people that masturbated regularly had significantly more orgasms. They also had greater sexual desire and higher self-esteem. Additionally, these people experienced greater marital and sexual satisfaction. They also required less time to reach sexual arousal.

Who doesn’t want to feel calmer, better rested, in less pain, with a healthier cervix? Who wants a boost in self esteem? Grab your partner (or your vibrator!) and go get healthy 😉
